CAM Meets is a lecture series that offers engaging presentations about art-making, art history, and other cultural topics for a broad audience. The CAM invites diverse local artists, historians, and museum professionals to explore art through different perspectives.

Cost: $10/Adult, $5/Child, Free for Members, EBT card holders, and NU Students.

Fall Season

Saturday, October 14 | Japanese Tea Ceremony
Time:
2–3 p.m.
Description: Experience Chadō—literally “The Way of Tea”—and learn about the meaning behind each step of a Japanese Tea Ceremony, the special form of floral arrangement (chabana), the unique lacquerware and pottery used, and the specific calligraphy (shodō) displayed within a traditional tea room (chashitsu).

Tuesday, December 12 | The Hudson River School: Artistic Pioneers Movie Screening
Time: 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Description: Learn about the birth of the Hudson River School, the first American school of painting that emerged between 1825 and 1880. This group's artistic splendor and wondrous vision would make its mark capturing the landscapes of the developing United States. The Hudson River School’s influence connects to the importance of captivating Niagara Falls in its natural state. Following the movie screening, there will be a tour of the Northward exhibition that highlights the traditions of landscape art of the Niagara River region. 

Preregistration is preferred although registration will be available at the beginning of this event. Please arrive 15 minutes before this event if you plan on registering at the door.
