In our new Nanula Digital Art Gallery, art is no longer fixed to the wall—it moves, flickers, evolves. It asks something different of our visitors: not just to look, but to stay.
And yet, something simple is missing.
A place to sit.
This Niagara University Day of Giving, we’re raising $3,000 to introduce soft, flexible seating—bean bag chairs—into the gallery. Not as furniture, but as an invitation to stay with us a little longer.
An invitation to slow down.
To watch a piece unfold.
To experience digital art the way it was meant to be experienced: in time.
For our students, this becomes a space to gather, reflect, and engage with new media.
For families, it becomes a place where children can settle into curiosity.
For all of our visitors, it transforms the gallery from something you pass through into something you enter fully.
Big things have small beginnings.
This is a small change that will shape hundreds of experiences.
On April 24, we encourage you to support the Castellani Art Museum and help us create a much needed, more welcoming, human-centered space for art.
If you’d like to support this initiative, please donate here. When making your gift, please write “Bean Bags” in the message or comment box under the “Concerning Your Gift” section so your donation is directed to this project.
Because sometimes, the most meaningful way to support art…
is simply to make space to sit with it.
