Donald Blumberg has experimented with the physical and conceptual characteristics of photography for over four decades. His photo collages often deal with multiple views of a single subject and the use of found materials, such as newspapers, postage stamps, and in this work in particular, mailers for processed film from Eastman Kodak Company—the type of film that was often used by tourists visiting Niagara Falls. Blumberg reproduced these popular images of the falls, exploring this landscape’s meaning within a broader mass culture.
